YEMAYA HAS RETURNED TO THE USA!

She is now teaching regular group classes in NEWPORT, OREGON.

Beginners Level ONE

(Begins January 5th 2012 - Thursdays 7:00 - 8:30pm)

A thorough 8 week introduction to the basic fundamentals of Bellydance including, proper posture and alignment, break-down of all of the basic isolations, basic rhythms, foot and arm patterns and, of course....the infamous shimmy! Yemaya also discusses history of the art and music throughout the series and invites questions about the art and all of it's intriguing elements. Cost: $38.00 / month (Cash payments only. Due 1st class of each month)

Beginners Level TWO

(Begins January 3rd 2012 - Tuesdays 6:30 - 8:00pm)

Ongoing classes- In this class we will explore more isolation technique, traveling steps, spins and turns, veil, and more fabulous shimmy technique. All classes include drills of movements learned with a strong focus on body conditioning. We will continue to build on our hip-work and isolation layering. We will also create small combinations and mini choreographies and Yemaya will introduce dance concepts geared towards refining quality of movement. Regardless of whether your intention is to be a hobbyist or performer, this class offers a wonderful opportunity to really feel connected to this incredible life enhancing art form. Students must have completed Beg. Level 1 or have prior experience and consent to join level 2 from Yemaya Cost: $40.00 / month (Cash payments only. Due 1st class of each month)

Little Gypsies

(Begins January 2nd 2012 - Mondays 5:30 - 6:30pm)

12 week series- Shimmy, Shimmy, Shake, Shake, Shake, Move Your Belly Like a Snake!! This fun and innovated class is geared to young girls ages 6-10 that have an interest in dance, music and "sparkle". We will use Belly Dance as our inspiration for this fun, creative movement and rhythm class. Wear something fun and "dancey". Ballet slippers or bare feet?...Either are fine. Yemaya will provide sparkles and bindis! Cost: $30.00 / month (Cash payments only. Due 1st class of each month)

Teaching Qualifications: Yemaya has been teaching Oriental Dance since 1992.She began training at a very young age with her Mother, Mentor and Master Instructor, Kameal. Yemaya apprenticed under Kameal for many years before beginning her own teaching career.
